Butter biscuits (shortbread)

One day, while I was surfing through the Internet, I found this very easy biscuit recipe. It seemed so easy, so I decided to give it a try. I had a shortage of some ingredients, so I adjusted the quantities accordingly. I followed the standard procedure of making the basic recipe for vanilla biscuits. The result was amazing! These butter biscuits melt in your mouth! They are easily made and are consumed in the blink of an eye. This quantity yields approximately 25 biscuits, but you can cut them into any shape or size you wish. Just adjust the baking time accordingly.


  • 160 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 160 grams of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 320 grams all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


In the mixer’s bowl, beat the butter with the sugar end the egg for about 2 minutes.

Add all the remaining ingredients and start kneading until you have a smooth dough.

Turn dough onto a floured surface. With a rolling pin, roll the dough out into a 0.5 cm thick sheet roll and cut biscuits with various cookie cutters.

Bake the cookies in a preheated, at 180 ° oven, for 19-20 minutes.

Keep in mind that biscuits and cookies are quite soft when coming out of the oven, but they become firm when getting cold.
