Broccoli salad with crispy bacon

A fresh salad is always welcome during lunch or dinner time. This lovely salad is usually prepared by my best friend and it is always an absolute hit. Crispy bacon gives an extra flavor to fresh broccoli. Sprinkle with some pistachios, oil & vinegar and there you go! Easy and lovely!


  • 1 broccoli bunch
  • 10 slices of smoked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1 tablespoon pistachios
  • Salt

For the dressing

  • ½ teacup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon thyme honey
  • Salt


Wash the broccoli, remove the hard part and keep only the flowers. Cut them in chunks as preferred.

Cut the bacon into large pieces and cook it in a non-stick pan for a few minutes (about 5 minutes) until it is golden brown and crispy enough.

In a large bowl, mix the broccoli, the bacon, the raisins and the pistachios.

In a jar, mix all dressing’s ingredients and pour it over the salad.

Toss the salad and serve immediately.
