Overnight oats

Breakfast should never be skipped as it provides the energy that we require to start our day and to avoid any snacks before lunchtime. However, as weekdays are quite hectic, overnight oats is a smart idea to prepare your breakfast the night before and have it ready by the time you wake up. Another plus of this recipe is that the combinations of various ingredients are numerous therefore never boring.


  • ½ teacup of quick oats
  • 2/3 teacup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Variation with cocoa and peanut butter

  • All of the above +
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • Chocolate Chips (Optional)

Variation with carrot and raisins

  • 1 small carrot grated
  • 1 tablespoon of raisins
  • 1 tablespoon of cream cheese
  • ½ tablespoon of shredded coconut
  • ½ teaspoon of grounded cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of grounded clove


In a bowl, mix all the ingredients with a spoon and divide the mixture into three jars.

Cover them and leave them in the refrigerator overnight. The quick oats will absorb all the fluids of the ingredients and in the morning you will enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast that will provide you with energy until lunchtime.
