Red wine and olive oil shortbreads

Myrto came back from school one day and she told me that a friend of hers had wine cookies for snack. She required the same so I came up with that recipe for red wine and olive oil shortbreads. They were a complete “hit” so give them a try.

Ingredients

  • 1 teacup olive oil
  • 1 teacup red, dry wine
  • 1 teacup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon clove powder
  • 500-600 grams all purpose flour

 

  • sesame for decoration (optional)

 

 

Cover two pans with baking sheet and leave them aside.

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and shape cookies as you prefer. Dip them in a little bit of sesame and place them on the baking sheets.

Bake in preheated, at 180 degrees, oven for 25′ – 30 ‘ . Let them  cool thoroughly and store them in a tin.
