During summer time we all spend long hours on the beach enjoying the sun and the sea. It is absolutely necessary to carry along some snacks to ease our hunger in a nutritious, healthy way.
Sandwiches are always a good idea when it comes to “beach snacks” as they are “easy to prepare” and you can always use your favorites ingredients to ensure a healthy diet. In that respect, plan ahead, buy the required ingredients and prepare your own healthy sandwiches, easily, quickly and cost-efficiently.
Mediterranean Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices of whole grain bread
- 3 tomato slices
- 3-4 chopped olives
- 30 grammars feta cheese
Salmon Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices of whole grain bread
- 1 slice of smoked salmon
- 1 avocado sliced
- 2 tablespoons of cream cheese
- A little dill
- 2-3 drops of lemon juice
Prosciutto Sandwich
- 2 slices of whole grain bread
- 2 slices of prosciutto
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- 3 slices of manouri white cheese
- A few rocket leaves & a drizzle of balsamic vinegar glaze
Finally, we could also consume yogurt with seasonal fruits such as plums, apricots and nuts, which is extremely refreshing and will provide us with energy. Important note: we should not forget to drink plenty of fresh water to avoid dehydration.
